Lisa Gerrard from Dead Can Dance and Jules Maxwell bring their breathtaking show Burn to Prague

"Her best album in many years," writes Louder Than War about the album Burn, which Lisa Gerrard (Dead Can Dance) recorded with Irish composer Jules Maxwell. Both will now come to Prague to present the unique recording live and promise a sonically massive and visually breathtaking experience.
In fact, each of the compositions from the album is accompanied by films made to fit the individual tracks. Art rock, neoclassical, spiritual music that doesn't hide its Irish roots - if anyone has really crossed categories gracefully for several decades, it's Lisa Gerrard.
Lisa Gerrard is not only a founding member of Australia's Dead Can Dance, but also one of the most versatile and compelling vocalists of recent decades. Her band was instrumental in the rise of the 4AD label in the 1980s, and she is also a renowned collaborator - as evidenced by dozens of collaborative recordings with names ranging from Klaus Schulze (Tangerine Dream) to The Mystery of the Bulgarian Voices. She co-wrote the soundtrack to the film Gladiator with Hans Zimmer, and collaborated with him on the music for the current film adaptation of Dune. She herself has written music for films such as Lord of the Whales and Ali, whose director Michael Mann regularly uses Lisa Gerrard's music.
Jules Maxwell has been the keyboardist for the concert incarnation of Dead Can Dance since 2012, which is when his collaboration with Lisa Gerrard began. But he is otherwise a versatile composer - his opera The Lost Thing was premiered by London's Royal Opera House. Maxwell will open the evening with a live rendition of his ambient album Cycles.
In Prague, however, they will mainly present their joint work - the passionate and fragile album Burn. And it will be a truly unique opportunity to experience live a record that manages both spectacularly dramatic positions and very subtle songs. It's not for nothing that Gerrard herself refers to the album as an extremely positive record.

DSL Dire Straits Legacy is going on a world tour!!!

British rock legends Dire Straits have sold over 120 million albums worldwide. Today, DSL Dire Straits Legacy brings back their iconic music performed by musicians who recorded and toured with Dire Straits over 30 years ago.

Alan Clark was Dire Straits' first keyboardist, Phil Palmer and Danny Cummings both recorded On Every Street, Mel Collins on the singles Love Over Gold and Twisting by the Pool All performed live with Dire Straits on several world tours.

Other members of DSL include George Michael's bassist Steve Walters, drummer Cristiano Micalizzi, Primiano Di Biase, Europe's most in-demand and in-demand keyboardist, and last but not least frontman Marco Caviglia, widely regarded as the world's leading expert on Mark Knopfler's unique style of guitar playing. Original arrangements of classical, film, pop and rock tunes performed by cello and double bass.

Prague Cello Quartet is a group of four musicians offering original arrangements of classical, jazz, film, rock and pop tunes. Their concerts aim to "combine music with a sense of humour" and are for audiences of all ages, including children. Their current repertoire includes songs from musicals such as Jesus Star Superstar, Les Misérables, Moulin Rouge and Phantom of the Opera, as well as film and popular songs (Queen, Coldplay) and classical music.

Currently the ensemble consists of Jan Zvěřina (cello, leader), Štěpán Švestka (cello), Michal Haring (cello) and Tomáš Otevřel (double bass).

The soft and drawn-out music from frosty Iceland, interwoven with the delicate falsetto of frontman Jónsí, will return to the Czech Republic after three years. Two concerts at the Prague Congress Centre will be performed by the greats Sigur Rós on 3 and 4 September 2025, accompanied by the Czech National Symphony Orchestra. Thirty years have passed since the release of their first album this year, and the band s last album, ATTA, was released last year to critical and fan acclaim. Sigur Rós now has a line-up that has settled on three key members, Jón ?ór Jónsi Birgisson, Georg Goggi Hólm and Kjartan Kjarri Sveinsson, who rejoined the band a few years ago. The band s upcoming tour is unique in some ways. Sigur Rós will play songs from the new album, but also a cross-section of their older work, all accompanied by the Czech National Symphony Orchestra. The fusion of Icelandic melancholy with orchestral arrangements will bring an extraordinary experience for all music fans.
