123 computers from the PCC get a second chance to make a difference
26. 10. 2026
On Thursday, 22 October, we donated 123 working computers from the Prague Congress Centre to the Computers for Children project run by the IT People Endowment Fund. This equipment, which is no longer needed in our operations, will now have a chance to serve a new purpose. The computers were personally received by Robert Novotný, founder of the project, from Tomáš Brejcha, our Marketing and ESG Manager.
The project helps children from socially disadvantaged families gain access to computers essential for their education and the development of digital skills. Its support also extends to schools, children’s homes and other organisations working with children. Over the six years since its establishment, the project has distributed a total of 22,500 pieces of computer equipment.
Before our computers reach their new users, they undergo inspection and cleaning, any necessary hardware upgrades, and the installation of the required software. Depending on their specifications, they can then support everyday schoolwork or help children develop their interests in technical and creative fields. The project also provides ongoing maintenance and technical support.
Through this donation, we combine helping others with a responsible approach to the environment. Devices that are no longer needed in our operations can continue to serve a useful purpose. By extending their lifespan, we also help prevent electronic waste.
We would like to thank the Computers for Children project for this meaningful cooperation and for the opportunity to support education and the continued use of functional equipment.
